Server-Side Tracking & Consent
A server-side tracking setup, via GTM Server-Side or an equivalent, designed to preserve useful conversion signals under browser restrictions and consent rules without guessing at consent state.
What we deliver
GTM server container setup and event routing for the agreed collection path
First-party collection design using Cloud Run, GCP, or your customer infrastructure where appropriate
Google and Meta routing with transformations for the fields each destination needs
Consent Mode and CMP mapping for the regions and choices in scope
Deduplication rules across browser and server paths
Monitoring, cost review, and operating notes for the server-side environment
Documentation of routing, consent behavior, transformations, and handoff checks
Who this fits
Good fit
- You're losing conversion volume to browser tracking restrictions
- You need consent-aware tracking for compliance reasons
- Your current setup is client-side only
Not a fit
- You don't have GA4 or GTM implemented yet, start with the GA4 & GTM implementation service first
What the setup must prove
Server-side routing is ready when the collection boundary, destination payload, consent behavior, deduplication rule, and verification record are explicit.
Define
Map browser events to the server endpoint, permitted fields, destinations, consent states, and ownership before routing is enabled.
Route
Verify the server receives the intended event, applies only documented transformations, and sends the expected payload to each destination.
Respect
Test granted, denied, changed, and unknown consent states; server-side delivery cannot create permission for a field the approved contract excludes.
Verify
Compare browser and server event IDs, destination responses, logs, latency, and infrastructure cost without treating transport success as conversion proof.
Commercial format
Setup project, plus a monitoring retainer
Delivered as a setup project, followed by an infrastructure and monitoring retainer to keep the server-side environment running and current.
